Cell dimensions are defined by the edge length of square cells used in raster data sets. The dimension determines the resolution of the raster feature. An example is the resolution of satellite imagery. The Landsat TM has a resolution of 30 m by 30 m. This means that the pixel size of the image is 30 m in length and 30 m in width.
