The official, authoritative memorandums or records of the agreements reached at international environmental conventions (see “international convention”). These documents stipulate the actions or steps that every signatory state has to execute to reach the benchmarks agreed upon at the negotiations (the states that have not ratified a protocol, need not strive to attain the benchmarks). See “international conventions” for examples.
